At the school I was studying there was this girl named Maja. She had a beautiful light complexion and freckles. I’ve read about freckles and how they can look on black and white film, so I wanted to try for myself and asked her to be my model. Luckily for me, she accepted! We tried to find a dark spot, which was quite hard this time of year in the high north since it never gets dark, but we found a dark-ish place and we set to work. Our friend Louise assisted us by working the hair and holding the light. I only have a ring-light and a reflector at this point so we had to make that work. Nevertheless, we had a fun evening and the results speak for themselves. I, for one, am very pleased!
The photographs were shot on a Hasselblad 500c with 150mm portrait lens and an extension tube. The Kodak Tri-X 400 film was developed and scanned at home.
